A Wonderful Miniature of Indonesian Culture | 3rd Winner KP Goes International Feb 2017

A region with highest culture diversity become the next top-priority tourist destination. Toraja, South Sulawesi has been selected as the one of this government master plan to be developed as well.
Recently, the growth of Indonesia tourism is in stable condition. Based on the statistics data of Ministry of Tourism, the total of international tourist arrival is 1.002.333 people. This condition directly impacted increasing value of Gross Domestic Product (PDB). Because, the foreign tourist usually spent 1.100 – 1.200 US dollars per visit. Its mean that this sector actually has a great potential for being developed. Even, in 2015, based on PP No. 69/2015 teh government give a Free of Visit Visa for occupants from 45 countries in order to support Indoensian tourism.
Besides, in two years later Ir. Joko Widodo has given the target into Arief Yahya as the ministry of tourism to get a 20 billions tourist in 2019. Jokowi stated that Indonesian tourism must increased 1 billion tourist each year comparing another country such Malaysia and Thailand which commonly increased 10-11 billions each year. If the target doesn’t reach for this year so the president will change the position of Arief Yahya.
As the way to fulfill the target, Ministry of Tourism try to open others potential place for tourism objects. Because, Indonesia needs to unearth any potential place or even culture to be developed. Selecting the Toraja as the next developed tourism destination is a great idea. Toraja has so many diversity of culture both nature or local wisdom.

The main tourism objects in Toraja is The Ceremony of Ma’nene. Ma’nene is a ritual which held on every 3 years in August. Everyone can see the amazing moment of walking corpse. This corpse like a zombie because of they will walk into a place in which it is their place for last and forever. The Ceremony of Ma’nene potentially exposed into the world as tourism objects. This is a real show ever. The tourist can’t touch the corpse or they will get a punishment.
Based on the expert theory, the government must consider many aspect of tourism development program in Toraja. There are many analysis, such as : the analysis of tourism characteristics, objects and tourist attraction, infrastrcuture and facilities, official organization, society and social culture, human resources, and SWOT analysis. Social participation from occupants can be alternative solutions. The local society must participated in which area they can fulfilled as well.
The big amount for developing infrastucture around USD 300 millions become an opportunity for Indonesia to ask the proposal for World Blank. Besides Toraja, this development also followed by another destination such Borobudur in Central Java, Lake Toba in North Sumatra and Mandalika in West Nusa Tenggara. These are the emerging place which will be planned to be funded by the World Bank.
